Why Police Officials are Corrupt


Justice delayed is justice denied


In our country Judiciary and Police department are most neglected. Quality manpower and adequate infrastructure is not provided to them due to which none  of the case filed in the court reaches to its logical conclusion . Even if some judges like to dispose off the case in quickest possible time and award justice honestly,he faces a lot of hindrances, political interference, pressure from local goondas, threatening and humiliation from local goondas, non -cooperation from advocates and so on which ultimately results in inordinate delay is delivery of justice to the victim.


Appointment of manpower in Police department or in various courts in the country is mostly done with either the recommendation of some higher bosses , some political leaders or after payment of  huge amount of money as bribe.


Quality is more often than not compromised. Promotions and posting are decided not based on the merit of the employee but based on the flattery he or she extends to his superiors, quality, quantity and value of gifts he or she gives to his immediate bosses from time to time  and the amount of money he or she pays as bribe to his bosses, competent authority empowered to issue command for posting and decide elevation in post.


As such even police officers, judges and other employees in these departments  are constrained to be dishonest or to remain a silent spectator of rape of honesty and glorification of dishonest workers.


Police officials  invariably try   not to provide safety to the victim or to the common men but invariably try to provide safety to powerful lobby in their office or  department to ensure their choice posting and quick promotion supersceding a lost of other fellow friends who are not only contemporary ( i.e. of  same seniority ) but more meritorious, talented, active and effective in delivery of justice to the victim without any fear of political repercussion or without any greed for money or without any fear of transfer or rejection in promotion process.


Corruption flows from top to bottom and never goes up from bottom to top.


Root cause of all corruption is whimsical appointment and arbitrary promotions and posting done by high ranked officers.


Interview at the time of fresh recruitment of an officer is imaginable and may be justified but there is no importance of Interview for promotion to existing employees, employees who are  well experienced, well tested and well attested during their  working in any office or department. 


Interview gives scope for manipulation and corruption. Interview gives scope for arbitrary transfer, posting and whimsical promotion and rejection in the promotion processes.That is why officers empowered to conduct interview and who is empowered to  gives marks for promotion of an existing employees looks opportunity of earning illegal money and become rich .
