Arvind Kejriwal , Reliance Industry AND Role of Government

Arvind Kejriwal is perfectly right in saying that Mukesh Ambani got all favours from almost all governments. He is true in saying that ministers of key ministries are also decided in consultation with corporate houses. In the past Dhiru Bhai Ambani used to dictate terms to the then Prime Minister Mrs Indira Gandhi. Rates of taxes for various sectors were decided by government as per whims of top corporate houses and similarly subsidies and concessions used to be announced by these government to please these rich business houses so that clever politicians may be awarded in return .None of Income tax officials have guts to make honest scrutiny of Income tax file of any rich person or big business house because they are all under obligation to these rich houses , they all are getting huge money and gifts as bribe and they are managing their personal properties through these business houses only .

It is not only Reliance family, but all big corporate houses use their money power from time to time to force or to prevail upon the governments of various period and various states ruled by various political parties to frame tax rules as per their comfort. There was a saying in the past, “Sarkar (Congress or Indira) Ke Tin Dalal, Tata Birla aur Maftlal “. This holds good even now, though certain wording may change from time to time. Almost Free or completely free land, free power, free water and free natural resources are provided to business houses in lieu of donations political parties receive from these hosues.Even an individual businessman or small trader in small towns and cities has to oblige officers in various ways to survive in the prevalent corrupt system .I congratulate Arvind Kejriwal and him team for exposing the nexus between corporate and political class.

Not only ministers in the government but even independent Directors, Executive directors, Managing Directors, Chief Executive Officers for boards of various public sector undertakings, public sector banks, corporations and government owned trusts and societies are picked up more often than not to please various power centers in corporate domain . It is nothing surprising and abnormal because it is these corporate houses that extend all monetary help to all political parties in meeting their electoral expenses. It is these rich people of the society who offer costly gifts to all powerful officials and powerful politicians on all occasions to oblige them and to make them their slave so that they may help blindly these business houses by all means and by all legal and illegal ways.

It is possible in India only that IAS officers like Khemka are transferred out just to please a high profile house. Hundreds of officers in government departments, ministries, public sector banks and public sector undertakings are transferred to insensitive places only because they try to act as per set rules and do not act as per whims of local politicians or local rich houses. If a junior officer in a bank  branch does not act as per whims of powerful businessman , he is forced by his superiors who are hand in glove with powerful businessman and if the honest and true officer do not succumb to pressure from higher offices he is transferred to remotest critical place . This is Indian culture, not uncommon and not abnormal in Indian system.

In such environment where all big bosses including ministers are busy in flattery of their bosses and busy in serving rich people to serve their personal vested interest, one cannot dream of any favour to common men from ruling government. This is why when taxi driver or tempo driver increase fare after rise in prices of fuel, they are taken to task by the government and their prices are set and decided by the government. Poor taxi drivers, poor temp drivers and poor service class people in government sector have to resort to strike and closure of market or violent movement frequently to force the government to give them a genuine rise of 10 to 20 percent in their earning in tune with inflationary pain caused to them at least after a period of four to five years.

But if Reliance Industries want 100 percent rise in price of gas produced in a span of only 2 years, the same government may accede to it easily and without any much protests from any corner. When the project is approved keeping in view all future cost escalation ,the same government should have considered the actual rise in input cost taken place during last two years and then could have given a proportionate and justifiable rise in gas prices. It is not imaginable that in a period of 2004 to 2006 input cost of Reliance Industry could rise by 70 to 100 percent.

Bitter truth is that rise in rate has been decided and approved by the ruling Congress Party government not based on the rise in input cost of Reliance Industries in production of gas but based on donation the industry agrees to contribute to the ruling party election fund as also to opposition party fund .They give considerable amount to opposition parties too so that none of elected member protest change in rule book or violation of laws by these high profile business houses.

It is important to mention here most of public sector banks used to lend hundreds and thousands of crores of rupees to powerful corporate houses at sub PLR rates to achieve the target of credit set by RBI and Ministry of Finance. These clever banks never took into account their cost of fund to ascertain lending rate for high profile business houses, These banks used to lend farmers, small traders, student s and small corporate houses at much higher rate than that to high profile business houses who used to oblige top bankers by various methods.

Most of officers and most of politicians are using government fund and public deposits to served their vested interest without taking care of loss government has eventually to incur by their unlawful and improper act. Politicians are distributing free induction oven, free laptops, free sarees, free mobile free foodgrain, free houses, free cash and what not to please and attract innocent voter in their fold and fund for all these charities come from government exchequer. After all when all are looters, who will stop such large scale misuse of public fund?

Barbad Gulista karne ko ek hi ullu kaphi tha,
Har sakh par ullu baithe hai , anjame julisha kya hoga

I have no doubt in saying that for growth of the country , it is necessary to have honest contribution of all serving employees of all offices and that to all business houses. IT IS ONLY BECAUSE THAT GOVERNMENT DO NOT HAVE ADEQUATE RESOURCES , THEY HAVE TO ENTRUST THE WORK OF EXPLORATION OF GAS TO BIG COMPANIES LIKE RELIANCE INDUSTRY.  But at the same time it is the duty of elected government to ensure that natural resources are used by corporate house not to earn extra ordinary profit and for exploitation of common men. It is the duty of the government to ensure absolute transparency in its all activities because they are servant of common men and hence accountable to common men , not corporate houses.

Coal is the natural gift of God and hence it should be used for maximum benefit of common men. Hence It is the duty of the government to ensure that coal mines are allotted to needy companies with the guarantee that the final outcome will not be priced at arbitrarily high price and completely at their whims and fancies of private persons but as regulated by the government in tune with cost of input. It is only when there is lack of transparency , when they are allotted to kith and kin and friends and relatives of MPs of ruling party and then sold to private business houses after taking abnormal profits.

Root cause of all problems lies in the fact that under the umbrella of socialism employees of government sector did not perform and finally it was compulsion that the government of all countries in the world had to adopt the policy of reformation in the year 1990.

The most unfortunate party of the era of reformation started in the year 1991  is that politicians of ruling party used the policy of reformation not for the development of the country or for the welfare of the common men but only to serve the mutual interest of corporate houses and politicians ruling the country.

Corruption which was rampant under the socialistic government grew many more times under the period of liberlisation, globlisation and reformation. People of India are suffering in pain caused by price rise, rampant corruption and due to inefficient and dishonest executive, political judiciary ,regulative , investigative and administrative offices but politicians and officers are living the most luxurious life.

And this is why the person like Arvind Kejriwal,Anna Hazare,  retired Army general Mr. V . K Singh retired IPS officer Kiren Bedi , Ramdeo baba ,  Team Anna, Team Ramdeo and other similar personalities and parties have gained so much  public sympathy and gaining momentum day by day. No one can stop the march of team Arvind Kejriwal and that of Team Anna or Team Ramdeo.

It is the need of the hour to break the nexus between corporate houses and politicians ruling the country. It is the need of te house to make the judiciary strongest so that every case of complain lodged by common men in any court or in any police station is decided within shortest period and maximum in 90 days and the real culprit is punished within a period of  maximum one year just like the world fame Rajat Gaupta was punished in America last month.
